Keeping Children Safe in Education

Department for Education

It's important that anyone looking to or is currently working within Education keeps up to date with the Department for Education's statutory guidance for schools and colleges on safeguarding children and safer recruitment. 

Via their website, you can find full details regarding the legal responsibilities that must be followed by those working with children and young people under the age of 18 in school and college.

Child Protection in Education

Educare

“This course is important for anyone that works with children and young people in an education setting. Its purpose is to raise awareness of abuse, neglect and other harms, recognise early signs that might indicate a problem, and how to take appropriate action.” - Educare

In this 3-5 hour online course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of safeguarding and protection when it comes to working with children and young people within an education setting.

Preventing Radicalisation

The Home Office

“This free online course offers an introduction to the Prevent duty and explains how it aims to safeguard vulnerable people from being radicalised to supporting terrorism or becoming terrorists themselves. This e-learning course has been developed by HM Government following consultation with a range of individuals and organisations.” - The Home Office

This free training will provide knowledge around the risks of radicalisation and you’ll techniques on how to support those that may be at risk.

Educare

“The primary aim of this programme is to build your awareness and knowledge of what extremism and radicalisation are, how people may be drawn into terrorism and what you should do if you have a concern about a child or young person.” - Educare

During this 1 hour, police approved, online course you’ll learn more about how school children may become radicalised and how to help those that maybe at risk.
