About The PRU:

A Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) provides specialized education for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism, and behavioral difficulties. They are seeking an experienced and passionate SEN Humanities Teacher to join their team.

Job Description:

The PRU is looking for a qualified or unqualified teacher with experience in teaching Religious Studies and Citizenship in a mainstream or SEN setting. The successful candidate will:

- Teach small groups of up to 6 students with SEMH, Autism, and behavioral difficulties
- Plan, deliver, and assess fun and engaging Humanities lessons
- Work collaboratively with 1:1 Behaviour Teaching Assistants to support student learning
- Develop and implement personalized learning plans to meet the needs of each student

Requirements:

- Experience teaching Religious Studies and Citizenship in a mainstream or SEN setting
- Ability to plan, teach, and deliver engaging Humanities lessons
- Excellent classroom management and behavior management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff
- Commitment to providing personalized learning experiences for students with complex needs
